THE CASA VOLUNTEER

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) serve abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes and find themselves in the courts and child welfare system through no fault of their own.

Our volunteers are subjected to a rigorous background check and training process. After extensive training and under the direction of the presiding judge, CASA volunteers participate as independent child advocates. The volunteer will formalize their observations and recommendations in written court reports to assist in the complex and difficult decision making process directly affecting the child.

TO LEARN MORE

Being a CASA volunteer does not require any special education or background – just the desire to help an abused and neglected child find a safe , permanent home. If you are interested in, please contact Barb Casey at 970-259-0310.

TO APPLY

Every year in Colorado more there are over 11,000 children removed from their home. Right now, CASA of the 7th Judicial District can only provide a CASA volunteer to about 40% of the children in our judicial district. Are you ready to be a caring, consistent adult presence during a scary and uncertain time? If you’re ready to begin the application process, please download and complete for ms to the right.
